Pack 554 Annual Dues
Each year, Pack 554 collects dues to help cover the cost of delivering a fun, high-quality Scouting experience. These dues help fund your Scout’s participation in our program for the upcoming calendar year.
There are two parts to Cub Scout dues:
- National Dues: These are paid directly to Scouting America. This covers 12 months from the date you register and includes insurance and access to the national program.
- Pack 554 Dues: These cover awards, supplies, activities, and more. Pack dues are not due at sign-up and can be reduced or completely eliminated by participating in our fall fundraiser (popcorn sales). Final pack dues are typically collected in October, after the fundraiser ends.
What Pack Dues Cover:
- Background checks and adult training
- Rank advancements and awards
- Pinewood Derby car kit
- Den and Pack events
New Families Are Responsible For:
- BSA national membership fee
- Official Cub Scout uniform (shirt, patches, etc.)
- Scout Handbook
Dues are intentionally kept at the actual cost of Scouting to ensure accessibility. The difference is made up through Pack fundraising, including our annual popcorn fundraiser. Proceeds from fundraising are shared between the Bay Area Council and our Pack.
Our Pack also sets aside part of its fundraising proceeds to help offset camping costs and dues for the following year.
If cost is ever a concern, please talk to the Cubmaster or Committee Chair—we’re here to help.
