Starting a new activity or joining an organization can be overwhelming, but Cub Scout Pack 554 is here to ensure a fantastic start to your Cub Scouting journey.
Scouting is Family Oriented
- Activities are intended for the whole family. All are welcome to participate.
- You work with your Scout on their award requirements, both at home and at den meetings.
- Many skills are family oriented.
- A guardian is required to attend all events with their Scout. This includes monthly meeting, outings, and special events.
Your Scout is a member of a Den
- Dens are organized by grade level.
- Each Den generally meets once or twice a month.
- The Den is led by a Den Leader (parent volunteer) and an Assistant Den Leader (parent volunteer).
- During Den Meetings, Scouts will work on advancement requirements for their next rank.
- Den Meetings also have games, crafts, songs, ceremonies, and lots of fun.
- A guardian for each Scout is expected to attend each Den Meeting.
Your Scout is a member of a Pack
- The ‘Pack’ consists of all dens and other leaders.
- The Pack meets once a month. All Scout families are encouraged to attend.
- The Cubmaster (parent volunteer) and Assistant Cubmaster (parent volunteer) lead the monthly Pack Meeting.
- Pack Meetings have games, skits, songs, special guests, ceremonies, and presentations of awards that the scouts have earned.
- A guardian for each Scout is expected to attend each Den Meeting.
The Pack is run by a Pack Committee
- The committee is made up of a Cubmaster, an Assistant. Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Treasurer, Den Leaders, Event Chairs, and other positions (all volunteers).
- The committee generally meets once a month. All leaders and interested parents are encouraged to attend.
- The committee volunteers and sets the agenda for the coming year.
